Our parks » Drymen Road Huts
They were a much needed holiday bolthole for Glasgow shipyard workers years ago as an escape from the City – the “Carbeth huts” holidays homes are part of modern folklore in the West of Scotland, with tales of families carrying building materials on their backs to create their holiday havens. Many families ended up owning more than one, such were their popularity, with a huge community feeling springing up, and the huts being passed down in the family.
Over the years, the original Carbeth estate was split up into several separate sites. Today’s modern holiday huts are available on Drymen Road, in picturesque scenery just off the West Highland Way. The site, close to the Carbeth Inn, which is undergoing a full refurbishment, has been the subject of a considerable investment by its present owners. A great deal of new landscaping is now in place, along with refurbishment of the existing huts on the site. Now featuring a mix of new and fully refurbished huts, it is only a ten minute drive from Milngavie.
The Drymen Road Holiday huts are priced from just £50,000 to £99,000. Updating the holiday hut model for the 21st Century, these appealing huts feature all mod cons, and are available in a choice of two or three bedrooms. Each hut, situated on its own plot of ground, has a spacious kitchen/diner, lounge and modern bathroom.
